Adoption Support Services Program

The ABW Adoption Support Services Program offers assistance in all aspects of parenting prior to adoption as well as post adoption. We are now able to complete the circle and fully support families in building strong, loving relationships and dealing with the special issues of adoption. These services include: individual, family, group psychotherapy and psychological testing. Our program provides counseling both in-home and at A Better Way’s offices. Additionally, there are support groups for parents and children. Specific issues will be addressed in these groups such as normalizing the adoption process, educating parents regarding parent– child attachment, cross cultural differences, and the integration of the adoptive child into the existing family system. Services are also available to all adoptive parents and children in the general community meeting eligibility.
