Foster Care Support Services
In-Home Service Program for Alameda County Dependents
A Better Way’s In-Home Service Program provides mental health care to Alameda County dependents in county homes. Through this program we also provide direct clinical case management and therapeutic work with families and children during regular home visits. By working to enhancing the bond between the child and his or her foster parents, and/or biological parents we hope to address and alleviate the behavioral issues and concerns that can lead to attachment problems and disruption of placements. Services can be provided in our clinic or in the family’s home.
Services to Children and Families
A Better Way has several mental health programs designed to provide a full-spectrum of clinical services to children and families in a pleasant outpatient setting or home environment. A Better Way serves birth families, foster families and adoptive families. Services include those dealing with such painful issues of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, neglect, abandonment and chronic intergenerational family trauma. We provide a continuum of services in a secure environment where children and families can be helped to develop healthier lives and relationships.
We work collaboratively with other caregivers in the social service systems, who also serve the family: social workers, teachers, attorneys, physicians, group home workers, case workers, mentors, and others.
